We cannot do it without you!
The reality is that many foster children, and children living in homeless shelters and in protective services, simply can’t afford camp.
This is what drives Westchester Parks Foundation, in partnership with Westchester’s Department of Social Services and Department of Parks, to host Camp Morty – a camp uniquely dedicated to providing these children, ages 8-15, a place to go for a traditional summer camp experience – free of charge.
When a child comes to our camp they are surrounded by nature, many away for the first time. With a little patience and willingness to adjust, our camp provides them opportunities to put aside any challenges they might be facing and be an everyday kid.
Unfortunately, among the over 5,000 kids who qualify each year, Camp Morty can only accommodate 500 a summer. There simply aren’t enough resources to take them all in.
This holiday season, please consider making a gift to support Westchester Parks Foundation’s programs. Your generosity will make a difference in the lives of countless children that deserve their opportunity to experience the beauty of camp and achieve their fullest potential.
Best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday,
Joseph A. Stout
